Our
prenatal education classes are designed to give the most up to date
information on infant nutrition, breastfeeding and safe and effective
breastmilk collection practices in the worksite. Each class is taught
by a certified Lactation Consultant. Class time is approximately
45 minutes and is designed to fit within a normal lunch break. This
service can include inhouse marketing and outreach to mothers prenatally.

Telephone
Support During Maternity Leave
Outreach
telephone calls to new mothers by a certified Lactation Consultant
to provide support and problem solving during those critical first
weeks home with the new baby. If the new mother is experiencing
difficulties with breastfeeding which can not be solved over the
phone she will be assisted in finding a Lactation Professional to
consult in person. The Lactation Consultant will make the agreed
upon number of outreach calls and the new mothers can make an unlimited
number of calls to the consultant.
Return
To Work Consultation
Private consultation with the Lactation Consultant approximately
two weeks prior to the new mother returning to work. The focus of
this visit is on assisting the new mother to prepare for her return
to work and how she can continue her nursing relationship with her
infant. The correct use of breastpumps and other equipment will
be reviewed as well as safe and sanitary handling and storage of
breastmilk, adjusting schedules, and other worksite issues.

Lactation Center Management
The lactation professional can provide management of the onsite
lactation rooms where mothers go during the workday to collect their
milk. Responsibilities include scheduling of participants, keeping
all equipment clean and in proper working order, keeping accurate
records of program utilization, and providing ongoing support to
the women using the program. State of the art Medela® breastpumping
equipment is available for sale or rent to equip the lactation
rooms.
